AU Stormwater Research Facility - Summer Research Assistant Positions

Overview

The Auburn University Stormwater Research Facility is dedicated to producing innovative and practical solutions for stormwater management. Through interdisciplinary research, product evaluation, and hands-on training, the facility remains on the forefront of stormwater research. The Stormwater Research Facility hires a team of undergraduate research assistants every semester to provide direct support to graduate students. Positions are available year-round.

Positions are available both at the outdoor research facility located at 1600 Lee Road 151, Opelika, AL 36804 (approximately 20 minutes from campus) and at the SRF lab located at the Harbert Engineering Building on campus.

Duties

  • Provide direct support to graduate students conducting large-scale experiments.
  • Assist in setting up experiments, collecting data, operating equipment, performing manual labor, and maintaining facility grounds.
  • Entails manual labor that is fairly physical depending on the tasks for a particular day

Majors + Class Years Considered

  • All engineering majors
  • All undergraduate and graduate class years

Position start timeframe and hours

  • Summer 2023
  • Up to 40 hours per week are available
