AU Industrial Engineering Department | Undergraduate Research Assistant

Posted: January 8, 2023

Overview

Undergraduate research assistants (URA) are needed for an NSF project, aiming to develop AI educational program for underserved high school students and investigate “what to teach” and “how to teach” in AI for smart manufacturing. The details can be found here.

The URAs should have a passion and curiosity for understanding AI and its impacts on STEM student education. They should be eager to learn new knowledge, and work in a team and independently. They need to show their related knowledge/experience in AI and manufacturing in their resume in the application (e.g., courses they took, trainings they had). Students with hands-on experience in coding, 3D printing, manufacturing, and sensors are preferred. They need to have strong communication and academic writing skills.

The candidates will go through resume screening and in-person interviews. The successful candidates will join the NSF project, supervised by a professor or a graduate student, and finish the project roughly in one year.
