Student Visit to Los Alamos National Laboratory | December 10 - 13, 2023

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) wants to actively engage with some of AU's top undergraduate and graduate students in order to inspire you to seek internships and careers at LANL. We are seeking twenty (20) students from the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, College of Sciences and Mathematics, and Harbert College of Business to visit LANL. All travel costs associated with the trip are covered.

 

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be at least a sophomore and not be graduating before December 2024
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0; preferred 3.4
  • Graduate GPA of at least 3.2 out of 4.0; 3.5 preferred
  • Must submit a resume
Schedule
  • Sunday, 12/10 | Fly to Albuquerque, NM; drive to Santa Fe / Los Alamos
  • Monday, 12/11 & Tuesday, 12/12 | Visit LANL
  • Wednesday, 12/13 | Travel home

Student flights may originate from anywhere in the country and your return flight may terminate anywhere in the country. If you have traveled home for the holiday break, AU will arrange round trip travel from your nearest airport.

What to expect

  • Research laboratories
  • Tours of the facility
  • Each student will present briefly on your research or your experience at AU in a group session
  • All travel costs covered
