Central theme: Energy Efficient Devices and Systems

Start: Summer 2023
Location: Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo MI

The R-SEEDS site at Western MI University, supported by the National Science Foundation, aims to engage undergraduate students in energy-efficient technology research, design, and development. It offers research projects in a broad range of exciting engineering and computing topics, such as:

  • computer architectures and energy-efficient computing,
  • electric grid component design,
  • autonomous vehicles,
  • nanosatellites,
  • plasma-assisted combustion,
  • industrial carbon capture,
  • neurobiological engineering, and
  • microplasma sterilization

Participants will learn the different challenged imposed by implementing energy-efficient systems and ways to overcome them
