AU ICAMS | Mechatronics Scholarship and Internship

Location: Auburn University Interdisciplinary Center for Advanced Manufacturing Systems

This is an application for a scholarship to earn a certificate in Mechatronics with our partner Southern Union State Community College (SUSCC) and then work part time at ICAMS for the following academic year.

The certificate is a 10 week/4 course program during the summer consisting of courses in Precision Machining, Programmable Logic Controllers, Robotics, and Pneumatics/Hydraulics. This certificate program prepares the student to work at ICAMS. 
The student must commit to the entire 10-week program which is delivered through courses held on the SUSCC campus in Opelika Monday through Thursday. Fridays will encompass doing additional work at the ICAMS facility.  The SUSCC academic calendar can be found here: https://www.suscc.edu/students/academic-calendar.  All participants must also be available to work part time at ICAMS during the 2024 academic year (Fall 2024 and Spring 2025).

Program Overview

Get paid to learn Robotics, Programmable Logic Controllers, Hydraulics and System Feedback, and Classical Metal Cutting and Machinery.

Eligibility

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Passing grade in MATL 2100
  • Graduation date after May 2024
  • Availability to work part time at ICAMS Fall 2024-Spring 2025

Support

  • Tuition and fees for summer classes paid
  • $8.50/hour
