Overview

This is a one-day course of classroom instruction. The objective is to train designated individuals in the proper procedures for conducting and documenting a radiation safety program.

The course includes all materials necessary for attendants to teach a Radiation Safety Refresher workshop to previously certified ALDOT technicians.

Course topics include:

  • - Regulations for securing and transporting nuclear gauges
  • - Personnel monitoring
  • - What to do in case of an accident or if gauge is stolen
  • - Instructions for conducting leak tests
  • - Documentation needs

The Radiation Safety course is a prerequisite for this course.

Fees, Refunds & Deadline

Registration fee: $300/student
Written retake: $150/student

Costs for housing, food and transportation are the responsibility of each participant. Registration fees must be paid at time of registration. Registration closes 2 weeks prior to start date of course or when class is full, whichever comes first. Cancellations received at least 2 weeks prior to the course start date will result in a full refund. No refunds will be provided for course cancellations after that date; however, substitutions will be accepted.
