The chemical engineering curriculum has been designed to meet the highest standards of the chemical engineering discipline and also to facilitate students acquiring proficiency with the subject matter presented in required and elective courses.

Each course in the chemical engineering curriculum and program specializations has one or more prerequisites (and/or co-requisites) that, under normal circumstances, a student must have fulfilled prior to enrolling in the course. These prerequisites have been established to ensure that students entering the course will meet the course demands and will benefit from course attendance and participation.

The current Prerequisite List contains up-to-date information about course prerequisites and co-requisites including special departmental prerequisites.

The department's Prerequisite Waiver Policy statement contains complete information about requesting a prerequisite waiver.

The Prerequisite Waiver Request Form should be turned in to the academic advisor for consideration and processing.
