Senior Design

Biosystems Engineering students are among the best at Auburn University. Our students receive their fair share of awards, scholarships, and fellowships for outstanding academic performance. The size of the department allows students to receive personal attention from faculty and staff, and gives students hands-on exposure to the latest technologies being used in ongoing research and outreach projects conducted by Biosystems Engineering faculty.

Our Senior Design class tasks students with real-world design projects to gain industry experience. The goal is to create a sustainable and cost-effective solution for the project sponsor/client. Past projects range from designing sediment and erosion control systems for the U.S. Army Fort Benning tank training grounds, designing energy-efficient solutions for the Red Clay Brewing Company in Opelika, AL to reduce energy emissions in the brewing process, and even designing rainwater capture and utilization system for Auburn University's Jordan Hare stadium. Check out some of the most recent projects below.

Our graduates enter the work-force prepared and with confidence. Industry, government, and university employers frequently contact us in search of young engineers.
