Department of Biosystems Engineering

Biosystems engineering faculty with extension appointments provide technical and educational programs that impact stakeholders in Alabama and beyond. These programs (informed by results from applied research) focus on (a) advancing the science of, (b) solving practical problems, and (c) addressing specific needs related to the efficient use and application of engineering and technology in agricultural and biological systems.
The two main biosystems engineering extension areas are poultry technology and precision agriculture. However, there are other faculty that can provide limited assistance regarding engineering and technology outreach needs in other aspects of agricultural and biological systems. The links below provides more information about these extension programs in the department and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
