The Center for Inclusive Engineering Excellence's Student Ambassador Program is for students that are dedicated to serving and representing the Center for Inclusive Engineering Excellence and the College of Engineering, its programs and its mission. Student Ambassadors who are selected will help host officialCenter for Inclusive Engineering Excellence/College of Engineering functions, VIP events, and act as student liaisons to various communities/units the office and college serves.
Student Ambassadors Application Information
TheCenter for Inclusive Engineering Excellence Student Ambassador Program is for students that are dedicated to serving and representing the center and the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering (COE). Student Ambassadors who are selected will help host official center/COE functions, student recruitment events, and act as student liaisons to various communities/units the office and college serves.
Qualifications for Membership
Student Ambassadors should possess the following:
- Be in good academic standing (not on Academic Warning/Suspension or have been on Academic Warning/Suspension in the previous school year) at Auburn University.
- Exhibit academic excellence, strong communication skills (both verbal and written), leadership skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Be willing to serve and represent the center and the College of Engineering and interface with the many communities Auburn University serves.
- Be an undergraduate or graduate student in Engineering and must have been enrolled at Auburn University Main Campus for two semesters (excluding summer term), including the semester of selection.
- Be enrolled and able to represent the center in a credible manner throughout the entire school year.
- Be able to attend scheduled mandatory training and agree to the time commitment to fulfill Ambassador duties during the week and on some weekends.
Responsibilities of Student Ambassadors
Student Ambassadors must:
- Attend all scheduled (monthly) meetings, serve as a mentor to incoming students, and participate in the designated major affinity group.
- Assist at designated center-sponsored events and professional development workshops.
- Assist with center initiatives and complete two office hours weekly.
- Be responsible to their advisor and the Office.
- Serve as a "spokesperson" for the center and help improve the overall program.
- Improvement and enhancement of interpersonal skills.
- Development of leadership, group dynamics, communication, and public speaking skills.
- The ability to meet, interact and network with other students, faculty, administrators, alumni, and community members.
