🏁 The Derby is an exciting new competition for students in grades 6–8, hosted by the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering at Auburn University. Future engineers design and build their own rolling prototypes to withstand impact, testing their creativity, problem-solving skills, and understanding of motion, force, and energy.
🥚 Then, it’s time for the ultimate test! Students will bring their designs to Neville Arena , where each prototype will face the Derby Crash Test Challenge . Durability, creativity, and engineering strategy will all be put to the test as students see if their designs can survive the impact!
Participants receive:
• A competition packet with rules and guidelines
• Breakfast
• A medal
• Engineering-themed goodies
❓ Can your design survive the crash?
