Undergraduate Research
In our department, undergraduate research is an endeavor between an individual professor and a student which either party can initiate. If you are interested in undergraduate research, there are three primary resources:
- Auburn University Undergraduate Research Program
- Speak to professors in the department whose work interests you. Several of our professors have engaged in undergraduate research with students in the past in several different ways — through a course in special problems (INSY 4960) for which you receive course credit, as a paid researcher from a professor's grant or as an unpaid volunteer.
- REU - Research Experience for Undergraduates (may be found through www.nsf.gov) is a program sponsored by the NSF where undergraduates attend a research university, usually during the summer, and conduct research.
