Alliance for Pulp and Paper Technology Innovation
The Alliance for Pulp & Paper Technology Innovation (APPTI) is an industry-led consortium that promotes development of advanced manufacturing technologies for the pulp and paper industry, and supports development of platforms to enable new revenue streams from forest-based biomass.
Previously called the Agenda 2020 Technology Alliance, it was formed in 1994 to bring together industry, academia, and several agencies of the Federal government to advance the pulp and paper industry, based on renewable resources, sustainable manufacturing practices, and sound economics.
Renamed APPTI, effective November 6, 2017, they will continue their three-part mission: (1) To identify industry technology needs and R&D priorities. (2) To inform universities and government agencies about industry research needs and opportunities. (3) To promote collaborative R&D programs to seize these opportunities.
