Admission to the outreach MS, MEM, and PhD program is the same as in the regular program, and the courses and degrees are identical. In addition, all students must have either a U.S. mailing address (including U.S. possessions) or an Army Post Office.
Auburn University's outreach program is well established and offers the same quality of education as is available on campus.
We have off-campus graduate students located all over the United States from Puerto Rico to Alaska. Most of them are working professionals who travel a lot or do not have local access to a high-quality engineering graduate program. In addition, some are serving in the armed forces, including those on active duty around the world.
All of these students are served by the video-based Graduate Outreach Program. Courses are videotaped as they are taught and are posted on the internet as streaming video. Students do the same homework and take the same exams as the on-campus students. Also, these students interact with the faculty and the on campus students via the internet or phone. In fact, some of the outreach students visit the campus as needed, though this is not a requirement.
