Ecological Engineering
Dr. Hossein Jahromi
I am an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University since 2022. I joined Auburn in 2019 as a post-doc, after completing my PhD in Biological Engineering at Utah State University. Given my background in Chemical Engineering (BS, and MS), my specific research interest is in heterogeneous catalysis, thermochemical conversion of bio-based feedstocks, and the development of eco-friendly fuels and bioproducts. In my professional life, I've developed a patent on catalyst manufacturing from red mud (a waste material from alumina industry) that has been commercialized. In addition, I've published more than twenty research articles in high-profile journals.
