Future Graduate Students
A quick guide to needed information, once you have been accepted into the AERO Graduate Program.
Below are sections of information based on your needs.
Events are located in the tab at the top of the page.
This page is to help with combining all locations of information into one area. Students can arrive at the AU campus as soon as 14 days before class starts. If you are a graduate research assistant (GRA) or a graduate teaching assistant (GTA) arriving in 14 days would be best to effectively and timely complete your hiring process.
International graduate students can arrive in the max of 30 days before the first day of class.
International students must arrive before the first day of class. If unable to arrive at the official academic calendar day of class, the student will be deferred to the next semester. (This is mandatory)
For other Q&A when applying: Admission FAQs (auburn.edu)
If employed by AU as a GRA or GTA - A background check will be issued 90 days before your arrival. Please keep checking your emails for this information and request to start the background check process.
This process starts after the accepted and signed offer letter has been returned to AU.
In addition, if accepted into the graduate program, you will need to go into your graduate application and accept the admissions offer to proceed through the student portion of the system.
Please register for at least one course hour if you will be a GRA or GTA. If unable to register, please contact the department liaison.

The Office of Accessibility embraces the philosophy that students with disabilities are, in fact, students with abilities who encounter social and environmental barriers. We believe disability is a fundamental element of diversity and value the unique experiences each student with a disability brings to the Auburn Family. Our mission is to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, and community to reduce these barriers, creating a more usable, accessible campus and learning environment. To achieve this goal, we utilize reasonable academic accommodations, assistive technology, support services, and student, faculty, and staff training.
