Sponsors Track Their Progress at Bi-Annual Meeting
Highway agency and industry sponsors of sections at the NCAT Pavement Test Track convened in Auburn on May 11 for their day-long spring meeting. The sponsors received updates on how their sections are performing, listened to presentations about overall findings and test cycle information, and toured the 1.7-mile track. Test track manager Buzz Powell gave the walking tour, hitting the highlights of each sponsored section as they passed them.
Current test section sponsors include the Federal Highway Administration and the following state departments of transportation: Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, and Georgia. Private industry sponsors are Kraton Polymers, Oldcastle Materials Group, Trinidad Lake Asphalt, Shell Thiopave and Polycon. The fourth test track cycle will begin in 2012.
