NCAT Welcomes New Assistant Research Professor

Dr. Maryam S. Sakhaeifar joined NCAT as an assistant research professor in June 2011. Maryam arrived at NCAT just after completing her Ph.D. in Pavement Material Engineering at North Carolina State University. She is the lead on pavement management systems (PMS) and pavement preservation projects at NCAT, and she will teach a course on PMS at Auburn University this fall. Having worked as a geotechnical engineer for two consulting firms in Tehran, Iran, Maryam is experienced in hot-mix asphalt performance testing and mixture analysis.  She also has a strong background in pavement mechanics and artificial neural network analysis, which was used in her Ph.D. research.  Her strong analytical background complements other NCAT staff who are more involved with the more practical aspects of HMA.
