About

The Samuel Ginn Outstanding Engineering Student Award recognizes an undergraduate student in the College of Engineering who demonstrates exemplary performance and career potential.  

The annual award amount is $1,000 contingent upon the availability of funds.

Eligibility

The award is open to undergraduate students majoring in engineering. Department chairs may nominate one student from each major in their department.

Criteria

Nominees should:

  • Be enrolled in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.
  • Be a sophomore, junior, or senior and have completed 55% or more of credit hours at Auburn University.
  • Have a GPA in the top 10% of the College.
  • Demonstrated exemplary performance in College activities, University activities, community service, leadership roles, and career potential.

Nomination deadline

Nomination forms are provided to department chairs.  A selection committee appointed by the dean of engineering selects the top student from among the students nominated for each major. Recipients will be honored at the College of Engineering's spring awards ceremony.
