College hosting engineering spirit week events

The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering will host a week of student-dedicated festivities beginning Monday, April 25 on the Gavin Garden in front of the Brown-Kopel Center. 

Celebrating the hard work of engineering students, the week allows various engineering offices and affiliated philanthropy organizations to demonstrate appreciation to its students.

Spirit Week was developed in collaboration with Engineering Student Council, Student Services, 100+ Women Strong, Office of Career Development & Corporate Relations and CAREing Paws.

Events include:

  • “Start Your Week Off Strong,” with breakfast pastries and coffee April 25 from 8-10 a.m., sponsored by 100+ Women Strong.
  • “Breakfast Bash” from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on April 26 with chicken biscuits provided by the Engineering School’s Council.
  • “Don’t Chicken Out,” with Chick-fil-a sandwiches provided by Student Services Wednesday, April 27 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • “Paws & Reflect,” from 12- 2 p.m. hosted by CAREing Paws. Therapy dogs and university resources that promote mental health will be present.
  • Dual events will be held on Friday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All engineering students are invited to enjoy smoothies provided by the Auburn Engineering Office of Career Development and Corporate Relations. Simultaneously, SignENG Day, held in Brown Kopel Suit 1131, is open for all students who have landed an internship, co-op or full-time job.

“Spirit Week is a time for the College of Engineering to celebrate all of the hard work our students put in throughout the semester! The goal for each day’s event is to provide support, encouragement, and motivation to students throughout the week to finish out the semester strong,” said Student Initiative Administrator Jenny Sconyers.
