The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering is hosting a Graduate Research Showcase at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville on March 29.

More than 150 graduate students and faculty from all departments will travel to the Rocket City to present their research to the Huntsville community and Auburn Engineering alumni. A reception featuring Christopher B. Roberts, engineering dean and Auburn University president-elect, will follow.

“As home to many of Auburn’s research partners, Huntsville is the prime location for our graduate students to share their own innovative ideas and findings,” said Maria Auad, Auburn Engineering associate dean for graduate studies and faculty development. “This will be a wonderful opportunity for industry representatives to make recruitment connections.”

Additionally, there will be a networking lunch and learn where Auburn Engineering Online and Continuing Education representatives will provide information and answer questions about the 15 master’s programs (14 fully online) and 16 online graduate certificate programs for anyone interested in these offerings.

The event follows the recent announcement that Auburn University is expanding its reach into Huntsville with the purchase of a new 40,000 square foot research facility located in the Cummings Research Park.

The event, which will take place in the Davidson Center for Space Exploration, is free with registration and will be held from 3-5 p.m., with attendees encouraged to stop by when it’s convenient. The lunch and learn begins at noon and includes a boxed lunch if you register by March 17.

Prospective undergraduate engineering students are also invited to attend from 12-2:30 to browse the posters and meet with Auburn Engineering’s director of undergraduate recruitment.

Anyone interested in engineering research, Auburn Engineering graduate programs, or making alumni and industry connections is welcome to attend.

"We are looking forward to facilitating interactions between industry, government and private representatives to showcase our students, faculty and research,” Auad said.  "It's going to be a big day for the College of Engineering."
