Want to Become a Tutor?

tutoring action shot

Do you already tutor many of your undergraduate peers?  Enjoy helping others?  Would you like to turn that free service into a paycheck? If so, then working as a peer tutor may be the ideal on-campus job for you! We offer flexible hours, a convenient location in Brown-Kopel, and paid training. Tutoring (teaching) is a transferable skill highly valued in the engineering job market -- we provide many employment, co-op, scholarship, and internship references each year for the tutors who work for us!  Starting pay is $10/hour.

Please consider applying to be a part of our team if you meet the following criteria:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher
  • Sophomore, Junior, or Senior undergraduate engineering student
  • At least 30 hours completed at AU

Employment applications open each November for the following Spring semester and each March for the following Summer and Fall semesters.  Interested applicants are encouraged to apply during the open application period.  If accepted, the student will be scheduled for an interview.

We do occasionally have mid-semester openings.  If you are curious about openings outside of the hiring window (November and March) please email us at tutor@eng.auburn.edu.
