Dr. Blake Melnick is a lecturer in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Auburn University. He teaches classes such as Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, and Thermodynamics. His interests are utilizing active learning techniques to increase student engagement and teaching learning strategies to enhance student comprehension. Dr. Melnick has been teaching classes in the department since 2012. Dr. Melnick is also involved in curriculum assessment and ABET accreditation processes.
Originally from Opelika, Alabama, Dr. Melnick graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Engineering Science and Mechanics where his research focus was experimental fluid dynamics. Dr. Melnick received his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Auburn University in 2015. Dr. Melnick’s PhD research focused on fluid structures in turbulent boundary layers.
