Student in class

History

Launched in 1996, this program plays a vital role in creating opportunities for all within Auburn’s student body. The program received sponsorships from BellSouth Corporation, AT&T and Alabama Power and carried a variety of names from Minority Engineering Program to Engineering Academic Excellence Program (AEP) and is now known as the Center for Inspiring Engineering Excellence. The goal of the center is to strengthen the recruitment and retention of underrepresented students in Auburn University’s Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.

Mission

The primary objective of the Center for Inspiring Engineering Excellence is to increase recruitment and enhance retention of underrepresented engineering students to graduate from Auburn University's Samuel Ginn College of Engineering.

This mission is accomplished through a series of academically based programs and activities. All underrepresented Samuel Ginn College of Engineering students are encouraged to participate in the programs.
