Leaders from the advanced composites industry discussed the future of advanced polymer materials at a colloquium sponsored by NASA and GKN Aerospace and hosted by Auburn University’s Center for Polymers and Advanced Composites (CPAC). The event drew 150 attendees, including students, faculty and representatives from companies such as NASA, Lockheed Martin and Boeing.
The showcase event highlighted CPAC’s capabilities and opportunities for industry collaboration in all areas of polymers, composites and advanced manufacturing using the center’s state-of-the-art facilities.
“We wanted to provide a platform for representatives from throughout the industry to gather information on research opportunities, for our students to identify the skills companies are looking for in the marketplace and for our Center to emphasize the resources we have to be a valuable industry partner,” said Maria Auad, the W. Allen and Martha Reed professor in chemical engineering.
