The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering has been granting degrees since 1931 and has over 4,000 living alumni. All degree programs are ranked within the top 25% nationally and the graduate program is currently ranked 21st (most recent U.S. News and World Report). BS, MISE, MS and PhD degrees are offered. Auburn University is recognized as a leading large public institution with emphasis in engineering, business and agriculture. Its library is ranked among the top nationally. The department has about 130 graduate students, with about 60 of those PhD students. Recent graduate students have been employed by companies such as Intel, Delta Airlines, General Motors, Honda, Accenture, Harris, Siemens, Hyundai and NASA and by universities such as Penn State, Old Dominion University, University of Louisville and University of San Diego.
