A
variety of mechanical connections were used to fasten
the wood components together and to secure the house
on its steel frame. Nails and wood screws were used
in combination with construction adhesive to attach
the OSB sheathing to the lumber and LVL blocking in
the SIPs. Also, lag screws were used extensively to
secure the folding roof system. Bolts were used to
attach the marriage beams to their supporting columns
and then to secure the columns to the floor and the
steel frame. Bolts and lag screws were used to secure
the house floor and walls to the steel frames. Many
other light-gage steel connectors were used to provide
additional connections between the roof and walls
and between the walls and the floor. |
