Dead
loads were determined by estimating the weights of
all structural members; mechanical, electrical, and
plumbing components; kitchen and bathroom fixtures;
appliances; thermal and photovoltaic panels; and batteries.
Floor live loads were set at 40 pounds per square
foot as recommended in the International Building
Code for residential construction (all areas except
for balconies and decks).
