Council of Engineering Graduate Students (CEGS)

The Council of Engineering Graduate Students is a student-driven initiative born in 2012 as a volunteer student organization whose purpose is to promote a cohesive community for engineering graduate students from an academic, professional, and social perspective.

In 2013, the efforts of CEGS led to the inaugural Graduate Engineering Research Showcase (GERS) where each year over 150 students present their research with more than 20 cash awards. Today, CEGS is responsible for organizing much more than the Research Showcase, and holds social, professional, and other academic events.

The organization seeks to bring down the walls between AU engineering departments by organizing a wide range of events -both social and research related- to promote establishing and maintaining communication among graduate students within the College.

The vision of the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering for CEGS is to empower all engineering graduate students to do whatever is needed for them within the College, encouraging them to become role models to all other graduates and trying to bring everyone together as the Auburn Family.

Any engineering graduate students who are willing to give a small portion of their time to help in our efforts are welcome to join CEGS. We hope that you will consider joining and helping us move the college forward. For more information please contact us at cegs@auburn.edu.
