The Master of Science in Data Science and Engineering program is now offered 100 percent online. This program is intended to prepare students to pursue careers in data science and engineering, where valuable information and insights are derived from raw data.

Students can expect to take 30 credit hours of graduate‐level courses in core topics like data mining, machine learning, and statistical learning, in addition to electives and a required capstone project. Engineering Online students typically have up to six years to complete their program.

While there are two formal options for this graduate program, only the data engineering option administered by the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering is available online. The data science option is managed by the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and is available as an on-campus program only.
