Q:  Is the OSE Graduate Certificate noted on a student’s transcript?

A:  Yes

Q:  How many hours are included in the OSE Graduate Certificate?

A:  The OSE Graduate Certificate programs consist of a minimum of 15 and a maximum of 21 hours of graduate-level course work.

Q:  What is the minimum GPA required for continuation in the certificate program?

A:  A minimum GPA of 3.0 must be maintained in all graded course work in the certificate program.

Q:  May hours taken in a certificate program be counted towards a graduate degree?

A:  Students officially enrolled in an approved graduate certificate program may count up to the maximum number of credit hours allowed by the certificate program toward a graduate degree.

Non-degree students who later decide to pursue a graduate degree must re-apply for admission to the Graduate School and the graduate degree program.

Q:  Are all the classes required for the OSE Graduate Certificate offered each year?

A:  Though not every graduate certificate course is offered each year, sufficient offerings exist for a student to complete the OSE Graduate Certificate within three (3) terms.

Q:  How many courses should I take per semester?

A:  There is no hard and fast rule, but students typically take one (1) course their first semester and then up to two (2) per semester after that. Under no circumstances should a student take three (3) OSE Graduate Certificate courses in a single semester. Consideration should also be given to summer sessions as they are conducted in an accelerated manner due to their shortened length.

Q:  What is the minimum GPA required for continuation in the certificate program?
