The Auburn University Samuel Ginn College of Engineering’s Office of Communications and Marketing was recognized for excellence in written and digital communications, earning 10 Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF) Lantern Awards at the association’s annual conference Sept. 20-22 in Tuscaloosa.

SPRF promotes excellence in communications and public relations through education, networking and recognition programs throughout Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle.

The organization annually recognizes members’ work, spanning long-term and short-term campaigns, tactical materials, storytelling, publications, digital media and institutional initiatives. Entries are evaluated on their own merits by public relations practitioners across the country.

"The SPRF is a nationally renowned and respected organization that does an amazing job of recognizing the work of communications professionals throughout the Southeast while also building a community of those in the public relations and marketing fields," said Austin Phillips, director of engineering communications, marketing and external relations. "We are humbled by this year's awards, as our office considers it a privilege to come to work each day to promote the best student-centered engineering experience in America."
