Why Auburn
"Auburn is the top engineering school in Alabama and offers the strongest opportunities to prepare me for my career, which made it feel like the perfect fit for me. Beyond academics, Auburn’s culture of family and support sets it apart, fostering an atmosphere where students feel connected, encouraged and motivated to succeed. That combination of excellence and community made Auburn the clear choice for me."
Civil Engineering
“I enjoyed math and physics in high school, so I knew I wanted a career that would let me apply those skills in a meaningful way. I was drawn to civil and environmental engineering because it offers the chance to work on large-scale projects and design infrastructure that serves communities for generations."
Engineers Without Borders
“I am part of the tank team in Guatemala, where we designed a concrete water tank as part of a larger water supply system. We connected a nearby stream to the tank on a previous trip, and when we go next year, we will extend the tank’s connection to all of the homes in the community. It was such an amazing experience to see how grateful the people of Parramos Grande were. It made all of the hard work and late nights worthwhile.”
Future plans
“I’m currently pursuing my doctorate in civil engineering, and once I complete it, I plan to return to Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates Inc., where I completed my internship as a forensic structural engineer. I gained invaluable experience there, and I am excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.”
