Olivia Dinehart navigates two very different lanes — the pool and the classroom. At Auburn, she competes as a breaststroke swimmer while taking on the challenges of aerospace engineering.
Why Auburn?
“I was recruited by Auburn for swimming. I wasn’t expecting much to come from it. I figured it would just be school and sports, but it’s become so much more for me. I discovered very quickly how friendly and welcoming everyone at Auburn is. I learned firsthand why they call it Auburn Family. I’m all in with Auburn.”
Aerospace Engineering?
“I was always interested in space, math and science. When I recruited, I wanted to concentrate on aerospace physics. Auburn gave me amazing resources to decide and settle on aerospace engineering. I’ve been in it since freshman year and I wouldn’t change a thing.”
Advice for Student Athletes?
“Auburn is a place where the community is very strong in athletics and academics. You can feel it when you visit, but the magnitude when you’re at Auburn is hard to describe. The support here is nothing like I’ve ever experienced or heard of before.”
Future plans?
“I’m very open to exploring different opportunities. Through the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, I’ve had the chance to connect with industry professionals and learn about various career oaths. I’m doing an internship with NASA, which will give me the chance to explore different paths within the aerospace field.”
