ISE professor named associate editor for leading engineering journal

Edward Huang, associate professor in Auburn University’s Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE), has been invited to serve as an associate editor for Advanced Engineering Informatics (ADVEI), a highly regarded peer-reviewed journal. ADVEI features research that compares, evaluates and summarizes methodologies and representations in the field of engineering informatics, focusing on advancing the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and industrial applications.
Huang expressed his enthusiasm for the role, noting the importance of the journal in shaping the future of the field.
“I was thrilled to receive this invitation,” Huang said. “The ADVEI Journal is one of the leading journals in the field of artificial intelligence applied to industrial settings. It is an honor to have the opportunity to serve this community.”
While Huang’s primary research focuses on digital engineering and cybersecurity, he is eager to explore broader applications of AI across various industries in his new role.
“I aspire not only to advance my own research areas but also to elevate the field of industrial and systems engineering as a whole,” Huang added.
Huang emphasized that this appointment is a reflection of ISE.
“This appointment reflects the strong reputation of our department and the impact of our research in the field,” he said. “In addition, this provides an opportunity to showcase our colleagues’ research to the broader field.”
As associate editor, Huang will contribute to the editorial review process, ensuring the publication of high-quality, innovative research that pushes the boundaries of engineering informatics.
