The Career Development and Corporate Relations (CDCR) office will host an annual engineering career fair beginning Sept. 23.
The career fair will be Sept. 23 and 26 in Brown-Kopel Grand Hall from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be 156 companies in attendance across the two days. The dress is business casual and students are encouraged to bring printed copies of their resume.
Following the career fair, interviews will be conducted Sept. 24 and 27. Students will be invited from interested companies to interview for internships, co-ops and full-time positions.
CDCR recommends students prepare for the career fair through resources, including Career Fair+, where they can find employers attending the fair and filter by majors, job roles, degrees and booth locations. Leading up to the career fair and throughout the semester, the CDCR office has appointments available via Handshake and drop-ins on Tuesdays and Fridays to meet with coaching staff. During these meetings, students will receive help with navigating the job search, resumes, cover letters, interview preparation, job offer and salary negotiations and career decisions,
Career Fair Ready week will begin the week before the career fair in Brown-Kopel, with group coaching throughout the week along with professional headshots Sept.16, and drop-in resume reviews and career fair interview preparation Sept. 16, 17 and 20. Additionally, on Sept. 18, there will be two career fair and interview preparation workshops.
“We often hear from employers how well prepared our students are. They present themselves professionally and communicate effectively their experiences both inside and outside of the classroom,” said Apryl Mullins, CDCR assistant director for corporate relations “Employers also share that students can stand out by researching the employer prior to approaching their booth at the fair.”
In addition to the college-wide career fair, CDCR will host a Civil and Environmental + Biosystems Engineering ASCE/ASABE career fair Sept. 17, with 69 companies attending. On Oct. 3, CDCR will host Auburn University’s on-campus departments that recruit for internships and Co-ops for tabling in the Brown-Kopel Christopher B. Roberts Atrium followed by interviews in the afternoon.
