2021 in review: Top Auburn Engineering videos of the year

From ground-breaking faculty and engaging student organizations, to outstanding students and alumni passionate about making a difference in their communities, there is no shortage of news and stories to tell from the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. Among nearly 100 videos produced by the college in 2021, we count down the top five most-popular videos across our social platforms:

 

5. Cheryl Seals named a Charles W. Barkley Professor

In 2020, Cheryl Seals, professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, was named a Charles W. Barkley Endowed Professor. She is the first engineering faculty member to earn this professorship at Auburn and will hold the title for a period of five years. This video introduces the university’s two Charles W. Barkley Endowed Professors: Seals and William Powell, music professor and director of choral activities in the College of Liberal Arts.

 

4. E-Day: Auburn University Rocketry Association

In this 2021 E-Day video, get to know all about the Auburn University Rocketry Association as they prepare for the NASA University Student Launch initiative, an annual design-build-launch rocket competition.

 

3. SignENG Day 2021

To celebrate Engineering Spirit Week, the college hosted SignENG Day – an opportunity for students to share their upcoming co-op, internship of fulltime positions. Former Miss Auburn University, Collins McMurray, and Andy Burcham, the voice of the Auburn Tigers, helped promote this student-engagement event with this video.

 

2. Graduate School Testimonial: Jaime Schussler

As part of a larger Auburn Engineering graduate school recruitment campaign, graduate students from throughout the college offered testimonials on their experiences. Jaime Schussler, doctoral student in civil and environmental engineering, talks about why she chose Auburn Engineering for her graduate education.

 

1. Black History Month Spotlight: Metrick Houser, ’93 chemical engineering

Future Auburn Engineers and their families celebrated the release of the Future Engineer Coloring Book. This wildly popular video reminded viewers that it’s never too early to inspire the next generation of engineers because even little minds can make a big difference.
