2020 in review: Top Auburn Engineering videos of the year

The past year brought unique circumstances to Auburn University and the students, faculty and staff in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. Through it all, the Auburn Engineering community remained connected to campus life through fun videos that served to entertain, engage and remind viewers of their connection to the Auburn Family. Below we count down 2020’s top five most watched videos across all of our social media platforms.
5. Congratulations to the Graduating High School Seniors of the Class of 2020
Auburn Engineering students and staff share warm congratulations to the graduating class of 2020, welcoming them as they begin their journey to Auburn University.
4. #TurntUpTuesday
The popularity of the social media app TikTok has grown exponentially in 2020. The short-video app has spurred popular dances and launched viral trends, including #TurntUpTuesday. Engineering students, faculty and staff were eager to participate.
3. Auburn Engineering Misses You
Spring semester on campus was quiet as classes were shifted online and faculty and staff were continuing operations remotely. Viewers were treated to a rare bird’s eye view of an empty campus as the college wished its spring 2020 graduates the best of luck in the future.
2. Renegade Challenge TikTok
In homage to another viral TikTok video, the biomechanics of the popular Renegade Challenge dance were mapped using technology in the AUBE lab, led by Michael Zabala, assistant professor of mechanical engineering.
1. Auburn Engineering Coloring and Activity Book
Future Auburn Engineers and their families celebrated the release of the Future Engineer Coloring Book. This wildly popular video reminded viewers that it’s never too early to inspire the next generation of engineers because even little minds can make a big difference.
