Janet Moore, director of advising for the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, has been named the National Academic Advising Association's Outstanding Academic Advising Administrator for 2019.
Bob Karcher, assistant dean for engineering student services, isn't surprised.
"What sets Janet apart from her peers is her enthusiasm for her work and the students she serves. It’s simply contagious," Karcher said. "Her staff believes in her and they simply want to follow her leadership. This award is a high honor."

Before arriving at Auburn, Moore was the director for academic support and tutoring services at Jacksonville State University, where she was the lead researcher of a $3.5 million grant that provided tutoring, cooperative learning labs, supplemental instruction and retention initiatives for the university.
