Brooke Jackson named polymer and fiber Outstanding Student
Brooke Jackson |
Brooke Jackson, senior in polymer and fiber engineering, has a wide variety of engineering interests which is why polymer and fiber fit her perfectly. Below she discusses the many ways she can use her degree, and how fortunate she feels to be named the Department of Polymer and Fiber Engineering's Outstanding Student.
“I majored in polymer and fiber engineering because I love how specific it is, yet it is so applicable to a great range of industries. With my degree, I can explore fields such as biomedical and aerospace engineering, and athletic equipment and apparel technologies. Polymer and fiber engineering has a place in almost every engineering field, and for a person who has a ton of different interests, that works for me! I am honored to be selected for this award by our faculty because of the valuable diversity that exists in our department, and in the College of Engineering as a whole. Being selected by a group with such diverse cultures, languages and backgrounds, I am humbled by the support they have shown not only to me—but to our Auburn community. Auburn Engineering has given me a great foundation for my future career. After I graduate, I plan on attending graduate school to further my studies in textiles, and I aim to pursue a career in sustainable textile technology."
