Clemson University researcher speaking at seminar Sept. 2

J. Cole Smith, professor and chair of the industrial engineering department at Clemson University, will hold a seminar at Auburn University on Friday, Sept. 2, from 2-3 p.m. in 3210 Shelby Center.

Smith’s seminar is titled “Dynamic Network Interdiction: Bounds and Optimal Algorithms.” The seminar will cover two scenarios involving a user and an attacker in a dynamic network.

Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematical sciences from Clemson University in 1996 and a doctorate in industrial and systems engineering in 2000. Before joining Clemson in 2014, Smith was on the faculty at the University of Arizona and the University of Florida.

The seminar, sponsored by the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering in the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering, is free and open to the public.
