AU Students Receive Scholarships
Three Auburn University Industrial and Systems Engineering students, Emily Curtis, Taylor Beasley and John Frost have received Materials Handling Education Foundation Inc., (MHEFI) scholarships sponsored by the Materials Handling Industry of America (MHIA).
Established in 1976, MHEFI is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and supporting material handling education. Scholarships are awarded each year to students dedicated to entering the material handling and logistics field.
Curtis, a senior from Auburn received the Interlake Material Handling Honor Scholarship for $1,500. Beasley, a senior and native of Montgomery, was awarded the $3,000 William Sbordon and Modern Materials Handling Magazine Honor Scholarship. A junior from Mobile, Frost accepted the Dr. and Mrs. Lawrence Heller Memorial Scholarship of $1,500.
"It pleases me very much to see our student receive such prestigious national scholarships," says Larry Benefield, dean of the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. "I believe this is testament to the quality of our programs and the quality of the students we are attracting."
