The Provost's Of.ce is seeking nominations for new Alumni Professors for 2005-06. A university committee selects and the Office of the Provost appoints five faculty members each year to Alumni Professorships and one every five years as Alumni Writer-in-Residence.

The Alumni Association funds the professorships, which are awarded on the basis on each professor's quality of teaching, research and publishing.
