The Auburn Pulp and Paper Foundation was founded in the middle 1980’s as a way to provide a pulp and paper-based engineering education for mills located in the Southeastern states. Originally focused on Chemical Engineering, the Foundation has expanded its scholarship offerings to include Electrical, Mechanical, Biosystems, and Industrial/System engineering students.
The APPF actively works as a bridge to meet the needs of the pulp and paper industry as well as the needs of engineering students. We connect those students to a contemporary educational experience at Auburn University, as well as connecting them to an engaging Co-op or intern experience with a papermaking facility or one of its supplier companies, and then finally with full-time employment in the industry for those students as they graduate.
We SUPPORT Auburn University students who are interested in a career in the Pulp, Paper, & Bioresource Industry by providing highly competitive scholarships to students in specific engineering majors.
We ENCOURAGE Auburn students who are currently enrolled in the Pulp, Paper, & Bioresource Specialization through mentorship, networking opportunities, and exclusive interview days.
We EMPLOY Auburn students, giving priority to those in the program, in some of the industry’s top paying start up positions with opportunities to grow.
