Bill and Pam Boyd
Why Auburn Engineering?
For Bill, the hands-on, practical experience that Auburn offered was a draw to engineering at Auburn. For me, my love for problem solving led me to engineering. As a young child, watching the work of Auburn’s College of Agriculture with farmers in my small community made me choose Auburn. My grandfather was a farmer and I saw the impact that research from Auburn made and what a difference it made in communities across our state and I wanted to be a part of something where I could make a difference in the community as well.
How did you meet? If you met on campus, could you tell us your Auburn story?
Bill and I met through our careers. Bill graduated as a mechanical engineer in 1990 and I graduated as an electrical engineer in 1992. Our paths did not cross at Auburn but through our careers at Alabama Power. We married in 1993 and both enjoy being involved with Auburn Engineering and giving back to the next generation of students.
Where are you now? Tell us about your engineering journey after graduation!
