• Trouble-shooting during or after construction

Associate Director Emeritus, National Center for Asphalt Technology at Auburn University

• Served as member of the Graduate Faculty of Civil Engineering at Auburn University.
• Co-authored the first-ever textbook on asphalt technology, Hot Mix Asphalt Materials, Mixture Design and Construction
• Editor, "Flexible Pavement Rehabilitation and Maintenance," ASTM, 1998.
• Advise state departments of transportation, contractors, and consultants in asphalt technology area.
• Serve as an instructor for asphalt technology courses (including Superpave) intended for government and industry engineers.
• Developed and taught a two-day course on pavement recycling (including hot and cold in-place, and full depth reclamation) for the U.S. Federal Highway Administration.
• Conduct research in asphalt technology at the national level.

• Developed statewide standards for asphalt materials, mix design, and construction.
• Advise materials and construction personnel statewide to resolve complex problems in the field related to asphalt pavements.
