Why this certificate?
The Graduate Certificate in Artificial Intelligence Engineering, offered through the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering, is available online and on campus to both degree and non-degree-seeking students. The field of artificial intelligence (AI) has evolved into a fast-growing and demanding field, with organizations across many industries seeking to adopt new AI technologies such as machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and robotics. This graduate certificate program aims at training students in the skills required to engineer high-quality solutions to the AI and machine-learning problems that exist today.
You are eligible to apply if...
Those who hold a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent from an institution of recognized standing are eligible (exceptions may be approved if the student has the background needed to succeed in the graduate engineering courses).
There is no GRE requirement.
To complete the program you must...
Complete three required courses and an approved technical elective from a list of department-prescribed courses related to AI and its subareas:
COMP 6600 Artificial Intelligence – 3 hrs
COMP 6630 Machine Learning – 3 hrs
COMP 6130 Data Mining – 3 hrs
Approved AI elective – 3 hrs
What can you expect?
Students will gain vital AI skills and knowledge to develop successful careers in business, defense, education, government, and health care.
If a student chooses to pursue a master’s, all credits obtained through this graduate certificate program can be applied toward the master’s degree.
