The Auburn Engineering Young Alumni Council (YAC) will welcome six new members at its upcoming meeting in late April.

The council was created in 2013 to serve and engage students and young alumni of the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. The group hosts annual events and workshops benefitting current students and early career professionals. The council also established an endowed scholarship for current engineering students.

Council membership is open to alumni within 15 years of graduation.

In 2026, the YAC will welcome six new members at its spring meeting:

  • Brian Drake, senior sales engineer, Airtame
  • Matthew Durham, regional manager, American Cast Iron and Pipe Company
  • Rob Miller, manufacturing manager, 3M
  • Ben Ratliff, operations manager, Farmers Poultry Supply
  • TJ Tinnin, transportation engineering analyst, Kimley-Horn
  • Ashley Yarbrough, assistant professor of operations management, Lipscomb University

New council members will serve on one of five committees: professional development, giving and engagement, networking, communications and marketing, and outreach and recruiting.

“Members of our young alumni council do tremendous good for our students and recent graduates,” said Wade Welch, director of engagement and donor relations for the Office of Engineering Advancement and liaison for the YAC. “We’re proud to welcome our new members and look forward to working with them in the years ahead.”
