Artificial intelligence (AI) is coming to a theater near you… again.

Building off the success of the 2023 AI Fall Film Festival, Auburn University’s AI@AU initiative – a program designed to expand AI research and education – kicks off a second film series featuring AI-related blockbusters beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 24.

Five popular films – RoboCop, M3GAN, Wall-E, The 13th Floor and Her – will be shown on select Tuesdays beginning at 7 p.m. in Shelby Center 1103.

“Join us at the AI Film Festival, where cutting-edge films will explore the profound impact of artificial intelligence on our daily lives,” said Gerry Dozier, the Charles D. McCrary Eminent Chair Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering and the AI@AU technical lead. “The AI Film Festival will not only be entertaining but it will allow us to discuss how AI can and will shape our world.”

Viewers will have the opportunity to view the movies, then learn from Auburn University experts, who will serve as discussion leaders about what they viewed and how this is applied today… and tomorrow.

“Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with thought-provoking narratives that highlight the intersection of technology and humanity,” Dozier said. “Insight from select discussion leaders will allow us to see these films in ways we didn’t see them before. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast, a film lover, or simply curious about the future, this festival promises to inspire and enlighten.”
