Thirteen engineering graduate students, three faculty members and one staff member were recognized at the annual Auburn University Graduate School awards ceremony, Friday, April 28, in the Melton Student Center Ballroom.

Auburn Engineering’s graduate program, which enrolled 1,150 students beginning the 2022-23 school year, was recently ranked No. 31 among public institutions nationally by U.S. News and World Report, No. 3 in the SEC and No. 1 in the state.

“Hard work and excellence are trademarks of our students, who continue to make an impact on campus through research and student organizations – but our graduate students also have a long history of making a positive difference within industry and academia beyond Auburn,” said Maria Auad, associate dean for graduate studies and faculty development. “It’s no wonder that graduate students from our programs are among the university’s best and I’m confident that they are among the nation’s best.”

Auburn Engineering graduate students/faculty recognized were:

  • Ajay Jayswal, mechanical engineering (Merriwether Fellowship)
  • Shiva Nageswaran, industrial and systems engineering (Three-Minute Thesis)
  • Justin Harvell, chemical engineering (Three-Minute Thesis)
  • Elaine Manning, chemical engineering (Rebecca Roden Award)
  • Bipin Tiwari, aerospace engineering (Master’s Thesis Award, “Influence of Pulsatile and Inlet Velocity Profiles on Tracheal Airflow Characteristics”)
